Department of Electronics Engineering

SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, formed the Department of Electronics Engineering (EE) in 2023 by merging the erstwhile departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) which were established in 2001 and 2003 respectively.

The Department of EE serves to create a common and competitive platform using modern tools for meeting real-world needs and future challenges in the field of electronics and allied domains. It seeks to serve as a resource for electronics engineering expertise at the regional, national, and global levels.

Students gain fundamental knowledge and skills in various areas such as electronic circuits, analog and digital communication, information theory, microprocessors and microcontrollers, VLSI and Embedded Systems, antenna and microwave engineering, mobile communication, soft-computing, signal and image processing, semiconductor devices, industrial automation & control, biomedical instrumentation, sensors & transducers, programmable logic controllers, and virtual instrumentation.

Vision

Teaching & Learning

Silicon ensures personalized instruction and individual attention to all students. Beyond classroom teaching, faculty members undertake consultancy projects which provide students with opportunities to learn through real-world industry and research work. Seminars, symposiums, and conferences organized throughout the year connect students to experts from outside the institute, introduce them to new developments in the field, and help them build networks.

Summer Internships

Learn new skills and upskill in the latest technologies through project based training. Go to Summer Internships

Practice School

Experiential learning through real time problem solving in industry environments. Go to Practice School

Research Areas

The Department facilitates a vibrant and research-intensive environment in speech and image processing, communication systems, antenna engineering, microelectronics, semiconductor devices, VLSI, sensors, IoT, and embedded systems. Faculty members work with specialized research groups, and final and pre-final year students to undertake basic and applied research. MoUs with industries and research labs promote research as well as entrepreneurship development in electronics and allied domains.
