Silicon Green Club (SGC) organized a plantation drive in the campus to celebrate World Earth Day on 22 April 2023.
The first Earth Day was celebrated on 22 April 1970 when Gaylord Nelson, a United States senator from Wisconsin organized a national demonstration to raise awareness about environmental protection. Since then, World Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22 April to create awareness about environmental movements and sustainable development strategies. The theme for Earth Day 2023 is ‘Invest in our Planet’.
The students and staff of SiliconTech came together to plant saplings and emphasize the need for increased afforestation for a healthier planet. The event was coordinated by Mr. Subrat Kumar Sahu, Faculty Coordinator of Silicon Green Club.
