Silicon Institute of Technology is known for its outstanding placement record among engineering institutes in Odisha. More than 75% of the students get placed every year.

Over 50% of the placed students get an average compensation package of more than ₹4.5 LPA. The number of students with paid internships increases every year, with the highest internship offer going up to ₹25,000 per month in 2021.

Top companies in product development, startups, and IT services from diverse sectors recruit Silicon students. Some of the notable recruiters from the past three years are Amazon, SAP Labs, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, Accenture, Cognizant, Synopsys, Capgemini, Micron Technology Inc, Mindtree, ValueLabs, Mindfire Solutions, Spikewell, and AcesoCloud.

Placement Highlights

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Silicon’s Bhubaneswar campus, SiliconTech, witnessed a record placement season for 2021. Overall, 80% of the graduating students received job offers by the end of April 2021. Companies from engineering & technology, IT/software, data analytics, consulting, semiconductor and healthcare sectors dominated the recruiter pool.

Akash Das, a SiliconTech alumnus from the B.Tech. CSE batch of 2020, gets 40 LPA

Akash Das, from the 2020 batch of B.Tech. CSE program at SiliconTech, was recently placed at Wiley with a package of 40 LPA. Akash was placed initially in Infosys through Infy TQ.  He had also received the ISTE ‘Best Student’ award for the year 2019, from the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Odisha Chapter.

Recruitment at Silicon

Silicon’s Industry Interface Cell invites prospective companies for recruitment two months ahead of the placement season. Interested companies give the eligibility criteria for students to participate. The final recruitment season starts from August of every year and lasts upto the end of the final semester.
