The Literary Club at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur(Silicon West) organized a literary event, ‘Litterateur of the Fall 2024’ on 30 March 2024.
The objective of this event was to provide students with a platform to showcase their literary prowess and help them refine their verbal expression and writing acumen.
The Chief Guest and external judge of the event was Dr. Kamdev Sahu, former Professor of English at Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur. The internal jury members were Dr. Sonalika Mishra, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering, Dr. Chinmayee Padhi, Assistant Professor, Basic Sciences and Humanities, and Dr. Tyagraj Thakur, Associate Professor, Basic Sciences and Humanities.
The competition was held in two rounds. The preliminary round had a creative writing session where the ten best participants were shortlisted for the final round. The final round comprised of three sections to evaluate the critical thinking skills of the participants. The participants had to appreciate poetry, perform selected soliloquies of different plays, and deliver speeches on given topics.
The title of ‘Litterateur of the Fall 2024’ was awarded to Sourav from the CSE 2027 batch.
