Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West), organized an expert talk titled ‘Numbers and Number Sequences: Personalities, Properties, and Patterns’ on 26 August 2025, as part of the induction program for the newly admitted students of the 2025–2029 batch.
Dr. Prasanta Kumar Ray, Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics, Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Burla, delivered the expert talk.
The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Mihir Hota, Dean (Academics). Dr. Ray, in his address, explored a wide spectrum of concepts related to numbers and eloquently highlighted the relevance and significance of mathematics across various domains, with particular emphasis on its applications in engineering and problem-solving. His insightful presentation offered students a deeper appreciation of mathematical principles and their practical value.
Dr. Chinmayee Padhy, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, proposed the vote of thanks, thereby concluding the session.
