Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West), organized an expert talk on the best practices of the core industry on 25 August 2025, as part of the induction program for the newly admitted students of the 2025–2029 batch.
Mr. Pratap Sahu, Vice President and Plant Head, Hirakud Smelter Unit, Hindalco Industries, Sambalpur, delivered the expert talk.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Mihir Hota, Dean (Academics). Mr. Sahu delivered an insightful talk focusing on the ethics, policies, and best practices of the Aditya Birla Group, enriched with his extensive industry experience. He also emphasised the importance of social and environmental responsibilities in the corporate sector and encouraged students to dedicate their efforts towards building successful careers.
The session concluded with an engaging interactive segment, where Mr. Sahu responded to a wide range of questions with clarity and depth. It was coordinated by Dr. Sonalika Mishra, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering.
