SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15 August 2025 to commemorate India’s freedom struggle and foster a sense of unity and patriotism among the students and faculty members.
India celebrates Independence Day on 15 August every year to mark a pivotal moment in the nation’s history. After nearly two centuries under British rule, India achieved its hard-earned freedom on this day, symbolizing the victory of a relentless and resolute struggle for independence.
The Independence Day celebration at Silicon began with our Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, proudly hoisting the national flag. This was followed by a unified rendition of the national anthem, sung by the staff, students, and assembled audience. In his address, Dr. Talukdar reflected on the nation’s remarkable progress and highlighted the challenges ahead. He also underscored the vital responsibilities of citizens in preserving and nurturing a just and free society.
The event featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing traditional dances and songs, inspiring speeches that stirred patriotic feelings, and engaging activities that underscored the country’s rich heritage. Everyone participated wholeheartedly, creating an atmosphere of unity and pride throughout the celebration.
