Silicon Quiz Club organizes Meme Quiz

The Silicon Quiz Club organized the Meme Quiz on 19 September 2025, blending humour, intellect, and the vibrancy of internet culture. The objective of the event was to assess students’ wit, creativity, and presence of mind through questions inspired by memes and contemporary social media trends. By integrating humour with fast-paced quizzing, the event created a refreshing and intellectually stimulating atmosphere on campus, encouraging participants to think quickly, engage meaningfully, and appreciate the creative dimensions of digital culture. It also underscored how internet trends can serve as an effective medium for informal learning and social interaction.

The quiz followed a two-tier format. The preliminary round comprised 15 questions, from which the top six teams qualified for the finals. The final round featured three segments—Round 1 (9 questions, clockwise), Round 2 (9 questions, anticlockwise), and Round 3, the Long Connect, which tested the participants’ lateral thinking and ability to establish conceptual links. To ensure fairness, two tie-breakers were conducted.

The event was hosted by Priyanshu Das (2nd Year, EEE) and witnessed participation from over ninety students. With his confident stage presence and commendable composure, Priyanshu conducted the quiz with precision and enthusiasm, maintaining a perfect balance between humour and intellectual engagement.

Subham Kumar Jha (3rd Year, ECE) and Pratham Jena (3rd Year, EIE) emerged as the winners, followed by Swagat Sarit Patra (4th Year, CST) and Biswanath Patnaik (4th Year, CEN) as the first runners-up, and Athar Imam and Swastik Bhardwaj (both 3rd Year, CSE) as the second runners-up.

The Meme Quiz 2025 proved to be a successful and enriching initiative, combining elements of humour, competition, and creativity while celebrating the innovative spirit of digital expression within the university community.
