Silicon University receives three consultancy projects from HINDALCO Captive Power Plant (CPP)

SiliconTech, the engineering college of Silicon University, received three consultancy projects from HINDALCO Captive Power Plant (CPP) on 10 October 2025.

The primary objective of these consultancy projects is to solve practical issues related to power factor improvement, motor efficiency enhancement, and overall energy system optimization at HINDALCO CPP. By applying academic expertise to real-world problems, Silicon aims to deliver cost-effective, technically sound solutions to improve the operational efficiency and reliability of the power systems at the plant.

Coordinated by the Industry Interface Cell (II Cell), this event marks an exciting chapter in Silicon’s ongoing collaboration with industry partners. The three consultancy projects that were sanctioned are Feasibility Study for HT/LT Switchgear for Power Factor Improvement, Study of Motor Loading/Efficiency and Recommendations for Energy Saving and Study for Battery Bank Parallel Operation. Each project will focus on analyzing existing systems, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing solutions to enhance the performance of the CPP’s energy systems.

Dr. Arnab Pal, Assistant Professor (EEE) and Faculty Coordinator of the II Cell, expressed his gratitude to HINDALCO’s management for their continued trust and collaboration with Silicon. He also thanked the faculty members for their support in preparing the successful project proposals, ensuring the smooth initiation of these consultancy projects.
