Silicon Institute of Technology kick-started its 2020-21 placement drive from 21 September 2020.
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Silicon’s Bhubaneswar campus, SiliconTech, witnessed a record placement season for 2021. Overall, 80% of the graduating students received job offers by the end of April 2021.
A total of 56 companies participated in the recruitment drive out of which 23 were first time recruiters from SiliconTech.
Companies from engineering & technology, IT/software, data analytics, consulting, semiconductor and healthcare sectors dominated the recruiter pool.
Over a period of eight months, 761 offers were made. Some of the notable recruiters in 2021 included Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, SAP Labs, Sevya Multimedia, TCS and Wipro.
SquidMind Associates, an IT company working in domains like digital marketing, DevOps, and CMS Development, made the highest offer of 26 LPA in 2021. The average compensation package was 4.2 LPA.
The placement record of Bhubaneswar campus, SiliconTech, has steadily improved over the years. Job offers increased by more than 60% over the past three years. The offers for internships doubled over the last two years with 160 internship offers made in 2021. The number of students with paid internships increases every year, with the highest internship offer going up to ₹25,000 per month in 2021.
