Silicon University organizes its fourth edition of TEDxSITB

The Industry Interface Cell (II Cell) at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized the fourth edition of TEDxSITB on 8 December 2024 on the theme ‘Navigating Crossroads’.

TEDx event embodies the spirit of the global TED community and its philosophy of ‘ideas worth spreading’. TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, features thought-provoking talks on diverse topics, including science, technology, business, and society. The ‘x’ denotes independently organized events, empowering local communities to foster dialogue, innovation, and the exchange of impactful ideas. This edition of TEDxSITB featured six amazing speakers who are experts in their respective fields.

Mr. Abinash Sahoo, CTO and Co-founder of BonV Aero, delivered the first talk of the event, sharing an inspiring account of his entrepreneurial journey. He emphasized the importance of clarity, courage, and purpose in achieving success, drawing from his experiences of starting a venture with six trusted friends and overcoming challenges through a shared vision. Leveraging his decade-long service in the Indian Army, he highlighted the value of calculated decision-making and a strong sense of responsibility in navigating obstacles and building a successful business.

Ms. Banasmita Pati, the second speaker of the session, delivered a thought-provoking talk on women’s empowerment. Drawing parallels between Draupadi and Amba, she highlighted the timeless struggles and strengths of women. She emphasized the importance of self-reliance, resilience, and courage, urging women to challenge societal norms and embrace independence.

The third speaker, Mr. Ajit Kumar Pallai, a Sustainable Ecopreneur, discussed the urgent need to combat climate change by reducing carbon footprints, curbing plastic usage, and empowering farmers. Sharing his journey from humble beginnings to becoming an ecopreneur, he underscored the value of educational equity, calculated risks, and perseverance, aligning his vision with India’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.

Mr. Prince Singh, the fourth speaker, an educational YouTuber and MNIT Jaipur alumnus, shared his inspiring journey of navigating life’s crossroads. He recounted how choosing academics over dance led him to discover a passion for teaching. Through his YouTube channel, he has inspired young learners with engaging and relatable content, encouraging them to pursue their goals with determination.

The fifth speaker, Mr. Ayush Tandon, actor and musician, captivated the audience with his journey from a Bollywood-obsessed boy to an acclaimed artist. He shared his experiences working on films like Life of Pi and Bajirao Mastani, as well as his achievements in music with popular tracks like Nazaare. His story highlighted resilience, passion, and the courage to follow one’s dreams.

Mr. Harshit Patel, the final speaker, delivered an insightful talk on personal and professional growth, using trading as a metaphor. He emphasized the importance of balancing technical expertise with emotional intelligence and managing risk while investing in personal development. His journey from a modest start to building a large following showcased the value of discipline and resilience.

The session concluded with engaging interactive discussions and vibrant cultural performances by students, leaving attendees inspired and equipped with valuable insights to navigate their own crossroads with confidence.
