The Cinemax club at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of University, organized Dubverse, an awareness session on voice dubbing, on 17 January 2026.
The primary objective of Dubverse was to provide students with an understanding of the art and craft of voice dubbing, highlighting how voice, emotion, and timing combine to enhance storytelling. The session aimed to inspire aspiring artists, sound engineers, and filmmakers to appreciate the nuances of dubbing, while also encouraging hands-on learning and engagement with industry professionals.
It was an interactive session that offered students a rare glimpse into the world of professional voice dubbing. The event featured the cast and crew of the film ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’, who shared their experiences and insights into the techniques behind bringing animated and live-action characters to life through voice. During the session, the cast and crew discussed the creative and technical aspects of dubbing, including voice modulation, synchronization, and character interpretation. Participants were invited to observe live demonstrations, ask questions, and even try their hand at dubbing short sequences under guidance. The interactive format allowed students to experience the process first-hand and understand the collaborative effort behind every dubbed performance.
A total of fifty students participated enthusiastically, gaining practical insights into a specialized aspect of film production. The session successfully combined learning with entertainment, leaving participants with a deeper appreciation of voice dubbing as both a technical skill and an art form.
