The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at SiliconTech collaborated with the IEEE Student Chapter to organize an invited talk on ‘AI for Everyone’ by alumnus Swaroop Mishra from the B.Tech. EEE batch of 2014, on 21 January 2023.
Swaroop Mishra, ex-intern at Google AI, Microsoft Research and Allen AI is currently a Research Scholar at Arizona State University, USA. Prior to this, he worked as a Technical Consultant with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India. He had also worked as a software engineer in MathWorks.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Pratap Chandra Mohanty, Faculty Coordinator of IEEE student chapter. Swaroop began the session by sharing the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). He discussed the application of ML in solving real world problems. He also inspired the students to do higher studies.
It was an interactive session, where the participants discussed their doubts and queries related to AI/ML with their senior and sought career guidance for further studies.
The event concluded with the formal vote of thanks proposed by the coordinator of the event, Dr. Arnab Pal, Assistant Professor, EEE.
