The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) collaborated with the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and IEEE students’ chapter to organize an invited talk on ‘EnergyPedia: Technical Discussion on Energy Conservation’ by Mr. Sribatsa Panda, External Faculty (Industry) of PCRA and Ex DGM, Business Excellence, SAIL, Bokaro Steel Plant on 19 September 2022. Mr. Panda is also a consultant, trainer and an auditor of various versions of ISO (International Organization for Standardization).
PCRA is a non-profit organization under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India which organizes multi-media campaigns for creating mass awareness about the conservation of petroleum products and fuel oil utilization studies. It also works on development of oil consumption norms and conducts energy audits, driver training programs, workshops/exhibitions and consumer meets.
The objective of this talk was to create awareness about the dire consequences of climate change and the urgent need for adopting energy conservation techniques.
Mr. Panda addressed the adverse effects of ongoing and unequivocal global warming in his talk. In order to combat the effects of climate change, he reminded the audience of their responsibility to conserve energy in various ways. The talk highlighted how energy has an impact on society, the environment, and the future of socio-political relations between countries.
A total of 65 participants attended the dynamic and interactive session which was followed by an intermediate quiz for the audience. The session concluded with the formal vote of thanks.
