The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) organized a five-day short term training program (STTP) on Industry Automation and Control for Industry 4.0 (IACI – 2021) from 20 to 24 December 2021 in the hybrid mode.
The objective of the STTP was to disseminate knowledge on key automation technologies such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Distributed Control System (DCS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) used in industrial automation applications. The workshop provided practitioners with the tools necessary to design, specify, configure, install and commission a complete PLC/DCS/SCADA system.
Dr. N. Bala Dastagiri, Technical Manager, TechFluent Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad was the keynote speaker. The other industry experts who shared their knowledge in the workshop were R. John Scudder, Assistant General Manager (E&I), CPP, NALCO, Angul, Jitendra Kumar Khilar, Senior Manager (E&I), Ravi Mishra, Senior Manager (E&I), Biswajeet Sahoo, Manager (E&I) and Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Manager (E&I) at Smelter Plant, NALCO, Angul; Lalat Shankar Nayak, Field Service Engineer, Tetrapak India Pvt. Ltd., Pune and Ajodhya Nath Satpathy, Director, Electroboltz India Pvt. Ltd., Raipur. The experts covered the detailed concepts of smart factories related to Industry 4.0, DCS and SCADA with real-time industrial automation applications.
Over 260 participants from various institutions across India attended this program and gained knowledge on Industry 4.0.
