Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Applications organize invited talks on ‘Digitization in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) Space’ and ‘Blockchain’

The Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Computer Applications jointly organized two invited talks on ‘Digitization in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) Space’ and ‘Blockchain’ on 6 December 2022.

The objective of these talks was to orient the students to these developing fields of technology and educate them about the available employment opportunities in both these sectors.

Harshit Jain, Founder and CEO of Sigma Advisory and an alumnus of BITS, Pilani and IIM, Ahmedabad delivered the talk on ‘Digitization in BFSI Space.’ Harshit explained how data can be digitally stored instead of being stored in physical form, the benefits of digital storage, and the potential for engineers to work on this field.

The talk on ‘Blockchain’ was delivered by Lingaraj Mahananda from Credore. Credore is a blockchain powered capital marketplace to enable real-world assets to gain access to financing. He explained how blockchain technology produces a structure of data with inherent security properties and emphasized the need for enhanced security across various domains.

A total of 92 enthusiastic students attended the talks.
