Entrepreneurship Development Cell organizes a Bootcamp and Idea Generation Competition

The Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized a Bootcamp and Idea Generation Competition from 18 to 22 November 2025.

The objective of the bootcamp was to help students understand the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including how to identify problems, develop ideas, and build solutions that have real-world applications. Over the course of the five-day program, participants were exposed to key entrepreneurship concepts such as innovation frameworks, business model development, and how to pitch ideas effectively. Facilitated by Mr. Deepak Chaudhury, an external expert with significant experience in business idea development, the sessions provided valuable insights into transforming creative ideas into feasible, impactful business ventures.

A total of forty-five teams from various disciplines participated in the event, each eager to learn and showcase their ideas. The teams engaged in multiple workshops and mentoring sessions, where they received feedback on their ideas and business models. At the end of the bootcamp, each team had the opportunity to present their idea to a panel of experts, who evaluated the projects based on innovation, feasibility, relevance, and potential impact. This process helped participants refine their ideas and gain practical experience in presenting their entrepreneurial concepts.

After the evaluation process, sixteen teams were shortlisted for their outstanding ideas and nominated to undertake Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Projects under the ED Cell. These teams will now receive continued mentorship, guidance, and possible support for prototype development and incubation. The program successfully encouraged ideation and teamwork, while identifying promising projects that could eventually lead to real-world innovations and entrepreneurial ventures.
