FDP on the role of AI in future microgrid control

The Department of Electrical Engineering conducted a four-day e-FDP on ‘Role of Artificial Intelligence in Future Microgrid Control’ from 17 to 20 June 2020.

Faculty Development Program (FDP) helps in fostering the knowledge and professional skills of faculty. It aims to enhance the knowledge of the faculty in various areas like teaching, assessing, research, professionalism, and administration to improve the educational environment of the institute.

The resource persons for this program were Dr. P. K. Hota, Professor of EE, VSSUT, Burla, Dr. S. R. Samantaray, Associate Professor of EE, IIT, Bhubaneswar, Dr. S. Panda, Professor of EE, VSSUT, Burla, and Dr. P. K. Ray, Associate Professor of EE, CET, Bhubaneswar.

They spoke about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in Electrical Engineering, specifically in microgrid control. AI techniques like Expert System Techniques, Artificial Neural Networks provide great potential and space for optimization in electrical engineering.
