SiliconTech’s Industry Interface Cell (II Cell) launched the Practice School (PS) program for the B.Tech. students graduating in 2023 on 6 May 2022.
The welcome address was given by Dr Jaideep Talukdar, Principal. Dr Sanjit Kumar Swain, Faculty-in-charge (II Cell) gave an overview of Practice School and Dr Debabrata Kar, Dean Academics, discussed the rules, regulations, and importance of Practice School.
Abhipsha Roychoudhry (CSE), Chandan Singh (ECE), Sanjog Samuel Samantaray (CSE) and Swapna Sanjog Mohanty (CSE) from the first Practice School batch who will graduate in 2022 shared their Practice School experiences as to how it helped them to get better skilled and earn higher packages in PwC, MentorGraphics, JSWand Amazon.
The Practice School (PS) program included in the final year undergraduate engineering curriculum is an initiative to make engineering professionals ready to face the challenges of the real world. It is an optional component in the B.Tech. curriculum carrying 16 credits.Final year B. Tech. students can opt for Practice School (PS) either in the 7th or 8th semester. As part of this program, the students will do rigorous internship activity in an industry or research organization for a complete semester of six months.
SiliconTech launched Practice School program for its autonomous students in 2021. A total of 128 students from 2022 graduating batch were part of this PS program and have benefited immensely from it. SiliconTech’s PS program was also appreciated by outside experts and they were impressed with the quality of work done by the students under this program.
