Industry lecture on steel-making discusses modeling and measurement

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an Industrial Lecture on ‘Model Steel Making’ on 14 March 2020. Er. Kirttee Nanda, Manager Technical Support Services, TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited, Belpahar, Jharsuguda, delivered the lecture.

Mr. Nanda gave an overview of steel making and the relevance of modeling and measurement in steel making. He spoke about how the steel-making industry is evolving and getting influenced by modern technology; and how it is becoming dependent on modeling to quickly and cost-effectively provide insight into analysis, design, optimization, and control of steel processing. He also reflected upon on-the-field-job by Mechanical Engineers in core industries.

Students from the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth semesters of the B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering program listened to the lecture.
