Institution’s Innovation Council organizes a workshop on ‘Design Thinking, Critical Thinking & Innovation Design’

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized a workshop on ‘Design Thinking, Critical Thinking & Innovation Design’ on 28 January 2026. The session was conducted by Mr. Deepak Chaudhury, Founder of Success Leaf.

The primary objectives of the workshop were to introduce the concepts and importance of design thinking, develop critical thinking skills for logical problem analysis and effective decision-making, encourage innovative and user-centered problem-solving, enhance collaboration and ideation skills, and facilitate the application of theoretical concepts through practical examples and case studies. The session aimed to equip participants with structured approaches to analyze problems systematically and creatively.

The program commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Mahendra Prasad Agasty, Professor of Economics, and Faculty-in-Charge of Silicon’s Entrepreneurship Development cell, who emphasized the significance of design thinking and critical thinking in solving real-world challenges and fostering innovative solutions. During the interactive session, Mr. Deepak Chaudhury explained the significance of Design Thinking as a structured approach to innovation and highlighted the role of Critical Thinking in making informed decisions. The workshop also emphasized interdisciplinary thinking, teamwork, and the transformation of innovative ideas into practical solutions, providing students with valuable frameworks for ideation and problem-solving. Participants were encouraged to explore creative solutions to societal and industrial challenges through innovation design. The workshop attracted a total of eighty-five students and faculty members, reflecting strong academic interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Overall, the workshop was highly informative and engaging. It enhanced participants’ understanding of design thinking, critical analysis, and innovation in entrepreneurship. The session also increased awareness of industry expectations, career opportunities, and the importance of innovation-driven thinking in the professional environment. The program concluded with an interactive discussion, allowing students to share reflections and insights on creative problem-solving and innovation.
