MeitY, Government of Odisha invites SiliconTech to attend the inauguration ceremony of ‘Odisha for AI’ and ‘AI for Youth’

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Naveen Patnaik launched two programs ‘Odisha for AI’ and ‘AI for Youth’, organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of Odisha at the Lok Seva Bhavan on 29 May 2023.

These two initiatives have been rolled out by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with Intel Technologies India, to promote Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the youth of Odisha. Students from all over the state attended this event in both offline and online modes.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mr. Patnaik urged everyone to embrace AI and unlock its limitless potential for the youth. Ms. Nivruti Rai, Country Head, Intel India, and Shri Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Sports & Youth Services also spoke on the occasion. These programs will focus on AI leading to the development of an ecosystem that fosters resources, innovation, and applications across several sectors like agriculture, automotive, and mining. The initiatives will be carried out in three cities across the state namely Cuttack, Bhubaneswar & Puri.

The AI initiative will put Odisha in the top league among the states in India. ‘Odisha for AI’ is a free 4-hour course on AI offered by Intel on its app/site. It will be open to all for free in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri and will be open to all in Odisha subsequently, ‘AI for Youth’ is for students (below 18 years) of 2000 5T schools of phase-1 and Odisha Adarsh Vidyalayas. The students will be trained and then these students will train other students. In this manner, all the people of Odisha will be acquainted with AI and will try to solve some real-world problems.

More than 400 delegates and some officials representing the Govt. of Odisha and Intel Corp. were present at the inauguration. After the inauguration ceremony was over, the Intel personnel conducted two sessions on awareness of AI and the upcoming programs of AI.

SiliconTech was invited by the MeitY, Govt. of Odisha to attend the inauguration function. Our institute was represented by Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, Principal, five faculty members and 69 students. The program was coordinated by Mr. Chandrajit Swain, Administrative Officer, and Mr. Siba Prasada Tripathy, Assistant Professor, CSE.
