Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (SiliconTech), has been placed under the band 151-300 in the NIRF Rankings 2023 for Innovation, previously known as ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements’ (ARIIA). The 4th edition of ARIIA has been renamed as the ‘NIRF-Innovation’ ranking and it has adopted the framework, parameters, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of ARIIA.
The National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings is an initiative by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India to evaluate and rank Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) across the country based on various parameters. Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, Government of India released the NIRF Rankings 2023 through an online event on 5 June 2023.
SiliconTech is one of the 300 institutes in India, from amongst 1413 institutes of central importance, government/private universities, and government/private colleges to have received a rank/band in NIRF Ranking 2023 under the ‘Innovation’ category. It is one of the four government/private universities & colleges in Odisha to have received this recognition.
The rankings were conferred on the basis of seven parameters that are essential for building inclusive innovation and start-up ecosystems in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). The ranking framework measures the ecosystem-building efforts in institutions by using 22 KPIs in aligned global indicators.
It is worth mentioning that SiliconTech has been recognized by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India in the 2nd and 3rd editions of ARIIA as well. SiliconTech was placed in Band B (Rank between 26 to 50) under the category of Private or Self-Financed College/Institutes in the East Region, in ARIIA Rankings 2020 and it was placed under ‘Band-Performer’ in the category of ‘Private or Self-Financed College/Institutes (Technical)’ in ARIIA Rankings 2021.
