Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar has been placed under band 201-300 in the engineering category in the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) Rankings 2024 announced by the Honourable Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in a virtual meeting on 12 August 2024. Silicon is one among thirteen institutes in the state to be ranked within the top 300 in NIRF Rankings 2024. It is noteworthy to mention that Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar has been upgraded to Silicon University with effect from 31 January 2024.
The NIRF rankings were declared for educational institutions classified under 16 categories. Under the NIRF, institutions are judged based on five broad parameters which include Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception (PR). The final rankings are conferred depending on the total marks obtained in each of the five broad parameters. This year, 1463 engineering institutes and universities in India participated in the NIRF Rankings 2024 from which the top 300 institutes have received this recognition.
