The Silicon Alumni Association (SAA) organized the 16th Alumni Meet at the institute premises on 28 December 2024.
The day commenced with a heartfelt welcome song, setting the tone for the event. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a traditional gesture symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the spirit of reunion. Dr. Jaideep Talukdar, our Vice Chancellor, delivered an eloquent and inspiring welcome address, underscoring the deep and enduring relationship between the alumni and their alma mater.
The event featured a series of captivating cultural performances organized by the students, infusing energy and vibrancy into the proceedings. To commemorate the occasion, batch-wise group photographs were taken, preserving cherished memories shared by alumni, staff, and students. A notable highlight of the meet was a nostalgic virtual campus tour, allowing alumni to relive treasured moments while also witnessing the remarkable advancements that Silicon has achieved over the years. For the first time, alumni-staff cricket and volleyball matches were organized, adding an element of camaraderie and friendly competition to the gathering. The enthusiastic participation in these activities fostered stronger connections among alumni, faculty, and staff, further reinforcing the spirit of community and togetherness.
The evening concluded with a delightful high tea session, providing a relaxed environment for the alumni to engage with faculty members and current students. These interactions fostered meaningful networking opportunities, enabling alumni to share their experiences and valuable insights with their juniors. The event witnessed the participation of two hundred and fifty alumni from various batches, marking it as a momentous and well-attended gathering.
The program was meticulously coordinated by the Silicon Alumni Association (SAA) team, under the guidance of Dr. Biranchi Narayan Rath, Faculty Coordinator of SAA. The Silicon Student Council, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, played an instrumental role in ensuring the smooth organization of the event, contributing significantly to its success and creating a memorable experience for all attendees.
