Silicon MSME Incubator holds scrutiny committee meeting for MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0

Silicon MSME Incubator organized a scrutiny committee meeting on 16 August 2025 to evaluate and shortlist innovative ideas received under the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0. The Hackathon invited theme-based proposals from students, innovators, and MSMEs across India as part of the Incubation Component of the MSME Innovative Scheme, implemented by the Office of the Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, under the MSME Champions Scheme.

A total of ten innovative ideas were submitted to the Silicon MSME Incubator, showcasing a wide range of technological and social innovations relevant to current industry needs. The scrutiny committee comprising experienced academicians, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs thoroughly evaluated all entries. Participants were invited to pitch their ideas before the committee. After careful assessment, two ideas were shortlisted- a smart portable IoT-based medical cooler designed by Smrutiranjan Rout (ECE, 2026) and a hospital-at-home healthcare solution developed by Ganesh Behera (ECE, 2027). These innovations stood out for their feasibility, scalability, and societal relevance.

The shortlisted ideas have been recommended to the MSME Office for potential funding support of up to ₹15 lakhs each. Through such initiatives, the Silicon MSME Incubator continues to promote a culture of innovation and support entrepreneurial ventures with real-world impact.
