Silicon University collaborates with Vedanta-FACOR (Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited)

SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, has expanded its footprint in industrial consultancy through a significant collaboration with Vedanta-FACOR (Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited), a leading name in India’s ferroalloy industry.

FACOR operates the Ostapal Chromite Mines in Odisha, where dependable power systems are essential for maintaining operational safety and efficiency.

SiliconTech received its first consultancy project from FACOR titled ‘Power System Study & Relay Coordination’ on 16 July 2025. This marks a major milestone in the institute’s growing engagement with core industries and highlights its ability to deliver technical solutions tailored to real-world industrial challenges. A dedicated team from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is leading the project. Their work involves a comprehensive analysis of FACOR’s power system to improve reliability, enhance safety measures, and optimize system performance across the site.
