The Department of Integrated Healthcare Technology (IHT) at Silicon University launched the M.Sc. in Digital Healthcare Systems & Management (DHSM) program on 1 May 2026.
The program was launched with the objective of preparing professionals for leadership roles in digital healthcare transformation. It sought to highlight the increasing importance of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, healthcare analytics, and hospital information systems in modern healthcare while familiarizing participants with the program’s vision, curriculum, and career opportunities. The event also aimed to strengthen collaboration between academia and the healthcare industry and encourage students to pursue careers in digital healthcare innovation.
The event marked the launch of a postgraduate program in Digital Healthcare Systems & Management (DHSM) and brought together healthcare professionals, industry leaders, academicians, faculty members, and prospective students. The launch reflected the University’s commitment to developing innovative, industry-oriented academic programs that address the growing demands of the digital healthcare sector
The program was hosted by Dr. Biren Banerjee, Head, JBS Haldane Centre for Molecular Medicine, Silicon University. Our Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jaideep Talukdar welcomed the gathering and emphasized the University’s focus on introducing future-ready academic programs aligned with emerging technologies. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Program Director of the M.Sc. in Digital Healthcare Systems & Management, presented the vision behind the course and discussed the rapid digital transformation of healthcare and the growing need for professionals capable of integrating healthcare with technology.
The event featured keynote presentations by distinguished healthcare leaders, including Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Executive Director at Taurus Glocal Consulting and Board Member Gene Arche, Dr. Girish Kulkarni, Chairperson, CHIME India Chapter (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives), Mr. J. P. Dwivedi, Chief Information Officer, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre and Board Member, CHIME India, and Dr. (Gp. Capt.) Deepak Rautray, Director, Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer. The speakers highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence, healthcare analytics, electronic medical records, and hospital information systems in improving healthcare delivery. They also emphasized the interdisciplinary curriculum of the program and discussed emerging career opportunities, industry collaborations, internships, and research prospects in digital healthcare.
The program concluded with an interactive discussion session followed by a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the distinguished guests, industry partners, faculty members, organizers, and participants.
