Silicon University organizes an industrial visit to Vedanta Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited

SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized an industrial visit to Vedanta Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited (FACOR) located at Bhadrak, Odisha on 26 April 2024.

FACOR is one of India’s most esteemed and longstanding manufacturers of high-carbon ferrochrome, also known as Charge Chrome. Renowned for its reliable supply, superior quality, and exceptional service, FACOR serves both domestic and international markets.

The objective of the visit was to gain valuable insights and enriching experiences regarding the latest technological advancements and operational excellence at one of India’s leading manufacturers of high-carbon ferrochrome alloys. The visit also aimed to explore avenues for collaboration in solving technical bottlenecks.

The team from Silicon was cordially welcomed by the host at the plant facility. The experts from Vedanta-FACOR provided an overview of the plant’s procedures and sustainability programs. Our team visited the furnace and Captive Power Plant (CPP) areas and discussed with the experts about technical advancements.

The visit created opportunities for future cooperation that may lead to growth and innovation in the manufacture of ferroalloys.
