Silicon University organizes an International Conference on ‘Intelligent Computing and Sustainable Innovation in Technology’

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized the International Conference on ‘Intelligent Computing and Sustainable Innovation in Technology’ (IC-SIT 2026) from 8 to 10 September 2026.

The conference provided a global platform for researchers, academicians, and industry experts to exchange innovative ideas, present original research, and discuss emerging developments in soft computing, intelligent systems, and sustainable technology.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Jaideep Talukdar, our Vice-Chancellor, followed by an address by Prof. C. R. Tripathy, General Chair of the conference. The Chief Guest, Padma Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and Guest of Honour, Dr. Radhakant Padhi, Professor, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IISc Bengaluru, addressed the gathering. Dr. Manoranjan Behera, Dean (Research & Consultancy), emphasized the importance of research and publications in achieving academic excellence, while the formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Pradyumna Kumar Tripathy, Program Chair of the conference.

The conference featured five insightful keynote talks by eminent experts. Padma Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman, ISRO, spoke on ‘India’s Journey to the Moon and its Impact on Future Space Exploration’, highlighting India’s achievements in space exploration and the possibilities and challenges ahead. Dr. Radhakant Padhi, Professor, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IISc Bengaluru, delivered a keynote on ‘Optimal Guidance for Soft Landing in Space Missions’, focusing on advanced guidance systems for precise and safe space landings. On the second day, Padma Shri Prof. Sankar Kumar Pal, former Director of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, delivered a keynote on granular computing, deep learning in video analytics, and Z-numbers, discussing emerging computational techniques and their applications. The fourth keynote, ‘Engineering the Future: From Technology to Transformation’, was delivered by PDG Jayashree Mohanty, Co-Founder & President, Luminous Infoways, while the final keynote, ‘AI-Driven Open Science Cyberinfrastructure: Rethinking How Scientific Knowledge Is Created, Shared, and Reused’, was delivered by Dr. Ashok Srinivasan, Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of West Florida, USA.

IC-SIT 2026 witnessed strong participation from the global research community, with 990 articles submitted for consideration. Following a rigorous peer-review process, 236 articles (23.8%) were accepted for presentation, of which 147 articles were successfully registered and presented by their respective authors during the conference sessions. Reflecting the international character of the event, 23 articles were received from 11 countries, including the USA, South Korea, Finland, and South Africa, among others. To maintain academic integrity, all submitted articles were screened for similarity and AI-generated content, with an acceptance threshold of less than or equal to 20% for both categories. In-house contributions accounted for 10% (15 out of 147) of the presented articles. The conference also featured a student symposium in the form of a Poster Presentation session, providing participants with an opportunity to showcase their research and engage in academic discussions with peers from diverse institutions. Interactive panel discussions further enriched the program by facilitating focused deliberations on specialized topics and encouraging collaboration among participants.

The three-day conference concluded with a valedictory session, during which the organizers expressed their gratitude to the keynote speakers, presenters, researchers, and participants for their valuable contributions. IC-SIT 2026 provided an engaging platform for academic exchange, research dissemination, and interaction among members of the global research community. Through its focus on intelligent computing, emerging technologies, and sustainable innovation, the conference highlighted contemporary developments and research directions while providing opportunities for meaningful academic and professional interaction. The event further contributed to Silicon University’s ongoing efforts to promote research, innovation, academic excellence, and international collaboration in emerging areas of technology.
