The Department of Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (IEEE MTT-S) student chapter, organized an invited talk titled ‘Careers Beyond 5G: Opportunities in RF and Microwave Communication’ on 14 November 2025. The event was held online, allowing students and faculty to participate remotely.
The primary objective of the event was to provide the students in the second, third and fourth of their engineering with insights into the career opportunities available in the Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave domain. The session aimed to equip students with valuable knowledge about the emerging technologies and trends beyond 5G, preparing them for exciting career paths in this rapidly evolving field.
Mr. Mohammed Asgar, Group Head (RF Applications) at AGNIT Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd., was the distinguished speaker. With over 25 years of experience in RF and Microwave engineering, Mr. Asgar has contributed significantly to India’s RF industry, particularly in system design, RF front-end modules, and wireless communication technologies. His extensive experience spans leadership roles at organizations like Aircore Systems, Astra Microwave, and RF Arrays Systems, alongside his early career at DRDO and Agilent Technologies.
Mr. Asgar delivered an informative talk on the future prospects of the RF and Microwave industry, offering valuable guidance for students looking to pursue careers in this domain. The session was well-received, with sixty students and faculty members in attendance.
