The Staff Welfare Committee at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized the Annual Staff Athletic Meet on 10 January 2026.
The event aimed to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among staff members while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie through friendly competition. Designed as a fun and engaging platform, it provided an opportunity for participants to step away from their routine work environment, relieve stress, and engage in enjoyable sports activities that encouraged relaxation and team spirit. With a strong emphasis on community building and collective well-being, the meet generated enthusiastic participation and emerged as a much-anticipated and refreshing experience for all involved.
The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Saroj Kanta Misra, Advisor at SiliconTech, and Dr. Ramaprasad Panda, Dean of Student Affairs, who highlighted the significance of physical well-being, teamwork, and collaboration in fostering a positive work environment. Following their addresses, the schedule of events was outlined for the participants. The day featured a diverse range of activities, including races, shot put, discus throw, balance races, tug of war, and musical chairs. These events not only showcased individual athletic skills but also encouraged cooperation, team spirit, and camaraderie among the staff members.
The meet concluded with a vote of thanks followed by a prize distribution ceremony, during which winners were felicitated with medals in recognition of their performance and sportsmanship. The smooth and efficient conduct of the event was ensured through the meticulous planning and supervision of the Staff Welfare Committee, creating a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants. With the active participation of seventy staff members, the Annual Staff Athletic Meet emerged as a successful initiative that effectively promoted physical well-being, teamwork, and a positive and inclusive work culture.
