Silicon University organizes ‘Code Relay’, a coding competition

SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, organized ‘Code Relay’, a coding competition on 1 March 2024. The event was jointly conducted by the Student Innovation & Promotion Cell (SIPC) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) student chapter at Silicon.

‘Code Relay’ was hosted using real-world coding challenges from the HackerRank website. The objective of the event was to use a series of coding questions to test participants’ logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. It also aimed to foster teamwork and cooperation among them.

A total of forty five teams comprising three members each participated in the event. The use of electrical gadgets, including smartphones and smart watches, was strictly prohibited. The contestants solved the problems only with the help of their knowledge and presence of mind. One member from each team was given fifteen minutes to solve a question from the HackerRank platform. The members took turns to solve different questions. The teams with the highest scores became the winners and runners-up.

The winning team comprised of Aditya Kumar Dutta, Ashish Singh, and Manish Kumar. The runner-up was the team of Santosh Rout, Ayush Raj, and Piyusha Pritam Nayak.
