Silicon University organizes ‘Inquizia 2026’, a series of quiz competitions

The Silicon Quiz Club organized ‘Inquizia 2026’, a series of quiz competitions on 9 and 10 January 2026.

The core objective of ‘Inquizia 2026’ was to create a dynamic intellectual platform that fostered curiosity, critical thinking, and collaborative learning among participants. By bringing together quizzes spanning Indian culture and history, sports, technology, and popular culture, the event encouraged quizzers to move beyond rote recall and engage in analytical reasoning, strategic thinking, and teamwork. Through diverse formats such as the India Quiz, Sports & Tech Quiz, Aurabinda Misra Memorial Quiz, and the Stranger Things–themed Quiz, ‘Inquizia 2026’aimed to promote healthy competition, knowledge exchange, and a vibrant quizzing culture, reinforcing its vision of nurturing informed, inquisitive, and intellectually engaged learners within the university community.

The India Quiz marked the opening of the quiz fest on 9 January, taking participants on an engaging journey through India’s rich history, diverse culture, and remarkable achievements. The preliminary round witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 25 teams, out of which the top eight advanced to a keenly contested final. Mukti Swaroop Pradhan from WRI and Ronisha Das from Accenture emerged as the winners, followed by Kalyani Kiran and Aniket Rout from National Law University as the first runners-up. Kamal Kishore Rathi and Nishant Nihar from Cryptic secured the second runners-up position. The Best School Team award was won by Ashwin Swain and Ishan Panda from DAV Unit-8, recognizing outstanding performance by school-level participants.

Later the same day, the Sports & Tech Quiz captivated participants with an exciting blend of questions on sports, technology, and innovation. The contest saw participation from over thirty teams, with the top performers progressing from the preliminary round to the final. Sanyog Sinha Mahapatra and Shubhrajit Bhattacharya from XIMB emerged as the winners, followed by Sagar Chandan and Sriyam Swastik from IIT Kharagpur as the first runners-up. Mukti Swaroop Pradhan from WRI and Ronisha Das from Accenture secured the second runners-up position. The Best School Team award for this quiz was won by Saswat Kumar Mishra and Yatharth S. Nayak from DAV Chandrashekharpur.

On 10 January, the Aurabinda Misra Memorial Quiz was conducted in the engaging MELA (Music, Entertainment, Literature, and Arts) format, covering a wide spectrum of general knowledge topics and testing the participants’ breadth and depth of understanding. The quiz witnessed keen competition, with Siddharth Sankar Rout from Solar and Prateek Mohanty from Redesign Health emerging as the winners. Ankit Jena and Toyada Pattanaik secured the first runners-up position, while Sagar Chandan and Sriyam Swastik from IIT Kharagpur finished as the second runners-up. The Best School Team award was won by Angad Roy and Ojasvi Pradhan from KIIT International.

The final event of the quiz fest, the Stranger Things–themed Quiz, emerged as a fan favourite, putting participants’ knowledge of the popular TV series Stranger Things to the test. With participation from over 55 teams, the quiz witnessed spirited competition and high energy throughout. Sanjeeb Sahu and Preet Agarwal from SJMCH emerged as the winners, while Surbhi Saswat Mohanty secured the first runners-up position. Akankshya Panda and Shivani Patro finished as the second runners-up. The Best School Team award was claimed by Rishit Jena and Aayan Nayak from DAV Unit-8.

The successful execution of ‘Inquizia 2026’ was made possible through the generous support of its sponsors—Burger Singh, Aghran Restaurant, Fresh Box, Anime No Sekai, and Cheesecake Masters—whose contributions significantly enriched the experience for participants and audiences alike. The event was meticulously planned and conducted under the guidance of faculty members, notably Mr. Dhananjaya Tripathy, Faculty Coordinator of the Silicon Quiz Club, with dedicated support from student volunteers and organizing teams. Beyond celebrating the competitive spirit of quizzing, ‘Inquizia 2026’ fostered meaningful intellectual exchange and camaraderie among participants, setting a high benchmark for excellence and engagement for future editions of the quiz fest.
