The Silicon Innovation and Promotion Cell (SIPC) organized ‘NIRMAN 4.0’, the annual technological fest from 6 to 8 February 2025.
The primary objective of the event was to empower students to enhance and explore their technical skills while turning their innovative ideas into reality. Participants had the opportunity to develop prototype models and compete with peers from various institutes, fostering a spirit of creativity and collaboration. Beyond technical development, the event also offered valuable exposure to the start-up and innovation ecosystems, providing participants with key insights into the entrepreneurial culture and the dynamic world of innovation.
The fourth edition of the event revolved around the captivating theme, ‘Avatar – The Genesis of Pandora’, where conventions were fearlessly challenged creating an environment that celebrated creativity, innovation, and limitless possibilities.
The fest commenced with an inspiring inauguration ceremony, graced by distinguished academicians, industry leaders, and innovators. Among the notable guests were Mr. Asutosh Rath, Executive Director of HR & Administration at NALCO, Mr. Vivek Nishant Nath, Chief General Manager of Sales & Marketing at Odisha Mining Corporation Limited, and Padma Shri awardee Prof. Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, former Vice-Chancellor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University.
The day unfolded with a series of exciting competitions that ignited the spirit of innovation and creativity. Events like Robo Race, Line Follower, Codeverse, Ideate Senior Prelims, and Ideate Junior captivated participants and spectators alike, setting the stage for an exhilarating showcase of technological brilliance and intellectual excellence.
The second day reached the pinnacle of technical challenges, with robotics and automation taking center stage. The Robo Sumo competition pushed the boundaries of engineering precision, as participants battled it out with their custom-built robots, while the Drone League showcased cutting-edge aerial technology and piloting skills, thrilling the audience with high-flying manoeuvres. Simultaneously, the Ideate Senior Finals highlighted some of the most innovative and impactful problem-solving ideas, reflecting the participants’ intellectual depth and creativity. Adding to the excitement, the highly anticipated 18-hour Hacknation competition kicked off, pushing teams to their limits as they raced against time to develop groundbreaking solutions under intense pressure.
The day was a vibrant display of innovation, creativity, and fierce competition, offering a glimpse into the future of technology and the brilliant minds shaping it.
The final day concluded with a grand closing ceremony and prize distribution, celebrating the outstanding creativity, innovation, and determination of the participants. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as winners were honoured for their exceptional achievements in various competitions. Dr. Ashok Kumar Badamali, Founder of Infinity Research & Development Pvt. Ltd. graced the event as the Special Guest. His inspiring presence and insightful words added immense value to the occasion, motivating participants to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sudhansu Mohan Biswal Faculty-in-Charge, SIPC. The event was coordinated by Dr. Biswal, Prof. Satish Kumar Das, Faculty Coordinator, SIPC, and the student members of the club.
Nirman 4.0 drew participants from prestigious institutions across India, creating a vibrant melting pot of talent and innovative ideas. The event also captured the attention of industry leaders, academic scholars, and technology enthusiasts, transforming it into a dynamic hub for knowledge exchange. With active involvement from students, faculty members, and esteemed dignitaries, it effectively bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and practical application, empowering students with the skills and insights necessary for the future of technology.
