Silicon University organizes ‘Sabdatattva 3.0’, the Annual Literary Fest

The Meta Academics Cell at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University organized ‘Sabdatattva 3.0’, the annual literary festival on 14 and 15 November 2025.

The objective of the event was to encourage students to explore the depth of literature while enhancing their communication, creative writing, and performance skills. The festival aimed to highlight the role of stories, poetry, and writing in shaping thought, emotional awareness, and imagination. It provided participants with an opportunity to reflect on how literature enriches life and fosters personal growth. Through various competitions and sessions, the event sought to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for the cultural and emotional significance of literature.

With the theme ‘Blossoming Minds, Boundless Words’, the event attracted over 200 participants, including students, faculty, and literary enthusiasts. ‘Sabdatattva 3.0’ provided a dynamic platform for creativity, celebrating the magic of words through poetry, storytelling, debates, and various literary activities. It brought together students from diverse backgrounds, fostering a collaborative spirit and allowing them to express their ideas through engaging competitions and performances.

The event began with an opening ceremony on 14 November, where Dr. Debabrata Kar, Dean (Instruction), Dr. Ramaprasad Panda, Dean (Student Affairs), and faculty members spoke about the impact of literature on individual growth and societal perspectives. Over the course of the festival, students participated in a variety of literary events, including Deceit and Discourse, The Literary Paradox Arena, Blackout Poetry Challenge, and more. Each event encouraged participants to think critically, demonstrate creativity, and engage with literary themes in innovative ways. Performances, creative writing workshops, and interactive sessions allowed students to showcase their talents and collaborate on different artistic expressions.

The fest concluded with a valedictory ceremony on 15 November, featuring a guest address by Gourav Mohanty, renowned author of ‘Sons of Darkness’ and ‘The Curse of Keket’. His speech inspired the audience with his personal journey into writing and the influence of mythology in his works. The event also featured cultural performances, celebrating the vibrant spirit of the festival.

Winners and runners-up in various competitions were awarded with cash prizes. The Deceit and Discourse competition was won by Sanjeevan Bhuiyan from KIIT School of Law, with Sonali Pradhan from Silicon University securing the runner-up position. Sarbani Debaprita, a 2nd-year CSE student from Silicon University, won The Literary Paradox Arena, while Swati Mishra, also a 2nd-year CSE student from Silicon university, was the runner-up. In the Blackout Poetry Challenge, Esha Agrawal, a 3rd-year CST student from Silicon University, clinched the first place, with Priyambada Dash from CSE 2nd-year securing the runner-up spot. The Bibliophile’s Bazaar was won by Adyasha Parija from OUTR, while Aditya Sahoo, a CSE 3rd-year student from Silicon University, was the runner-up. Asutosh Das, a 4th-year CSE student from ITER, emerged as the winner of the Leadership Challenge, with Debanshi Swain, a 2nd-year CSE student from Silicon University, as the runner-up. In the Ehsaas ~Beyond Words competition, the winner was Team Awaz from Silicon University, while Abhilash Praharaj, a 3rd-year CST student from Silicon University, was the runner-up.
