The Departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Computer Applications at SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, collaborated with the IEEE student branch to organize an inter college event titled ‘Vibe Coding 2026 – A Computational Hack Sprint’ on 31 January 2026.
The primary objective of Vibe Coding 2026 was to foster problem-solving skills, algorithmic thinking, and collaborative innovation among students. The event aimed to create an intellectually stimulating environment where participants could apply fundamental concepts of programming, logic building, and computational intelligence to real-time challenges. By presenting industry-relevant problem statements, the hack sprint sought to strengthen analytical reasoning, coding proficiency, teamwork, and time management skills while bridging the gap between academic learning and practical implementation.
The competition was evaluated by eminent industry experts, including Satya Prasad Moharana, Cloud Solutions Architect at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Switzerland, and Sanjaya Panigrahy, Assistant Vice President at Genpact, Bengaluru. Their valuable insights and constructive feedback enriched the event by offering students exposure to industry best practices and practical approaches to competitive coding and computational problem-solving.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners and the distribution of prizes to the top three teams by Prof. Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, Registrar of Silicon University. The hack sprint was highly appreciated by participants, evaluators, and faculty members, marking a significant milestone in promoting technical excellence and strengthening the coding culture at Silicon University.
