Silicon University receives a consultancy project from the Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited

Silicon University received a consultancy project from the Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited (FACOR) titled ‘Power System Study and Relay Coordination’ for both its Captive Power Plant (CPP) and the metal plant in Bhadrak on 23 December 2025.

In FACOR’s CPP and metal plant in Bhadrak, the reliability and efficiency of the power system are crucial for the uninterrupted production and operational safety of its facilities. The primary objective of this collaboration is to conduct a comprehensive ‘Power System Study & Relay Coordination’ for both the plants. This involves a detailed technical assessment of the electrical network and its protection systems, aimed at enhancing the overall reliability, safety, and performance optimization of these power systems. The expertise from Silicon University’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department will be instrumental in designing solutions that align with the specific operational needs and challenges of the industry, ensuring that FACOR can improve its operational efficiency while minimizing downtime.

This partnership represents a significant step forward in SiliconTech’s efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering real-world applications of academic knowledge. A dedicated team of faculty members and students from the EEE Department will lead the consultancy project. Their work will provide a deep dive into the technical aspects of power system design, protection mechanisms, and relay coordination, ensuring that all systems perform at their highest potential. The collaboration not only supports FACOR’s immediate technical needs but also provides the university’s team with valuable hands-on experience in tackling complex industry-specific challenges.
