SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the VLSI Society of India (VSI) on 16 August 2024.
VSI is dedicated to advancing education and research in VLSI and semiconductors nationwide. As a key driver of technological growth, it fosters robust connections among industry, academia, and government across various domains, including design, research, talent development, skilling, and startups. With the support of over 100 volunteers from industry, academia, and government, VSI tirelessly works to establish India as a leading semiconductor product nation.
As part of this collaboration, Silicon University and VSI will form a comprehensive partnership focused on innovation, research, startups, and talent development in VLSI design and semiconductors. This initiative will enhance employment opportunities by aligning academic programs with industry needs and ensure that students are well-prepared for successful careers.
A key goal of the partnership is to foster a strong startup ecosystem by harnessing research talent and innovation. This will be supported through techno-commercial mentorship, industry collaborations, market opportunities, and seed funding. The MoU is expected to drive significant growth in both research and entrepreneurial ventures at Silicon University.
Dr. Satya Gupta, President of VSI, represented the organization. This collaboration marks a strategic initiative to drive innovation and advance academic excellence in semiconductor technology.
