Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West), organized a farewell function for the B.Tech. graduating batch of 2025 on 14 May 2025. The event was graced by faculty members and students who gathered to celebrate the accomplishments and memories of the outgoing batch.
Prof. Mihir Hota, Dean Academics, inaugurated the program with a warm welcome address, fondly reminiscing about his experiences with the outgoing students. This was followed by reflections from Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahapatra, Senior Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Ashutosh Rath, Senior Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Tyagraj Thakur, Senior Assistant Professor of Basic Sciences and Humanities (English), who shared their thoughts on the students’ academic journey and extended heartfelt wishes for their future careers and lives ahead. Several graduating students, including Satyabrat Panigrahi, Tapur Dey, Kalyan Mohapatra, Somdev Behera, Gourav Kumar, Debashis Sahoo, and Saswat Ranjan Pattnaik, took the stage to reflect on their campus life and share valuable lessons learned along the way. As a tribute, third-year students curated and presented a digital gallery featuring memorable photos and videos of the graduating batch.
The event also featured the presentation of special awards. Saswat Ranjan Pattnaik from the Department of Civil Engineering received the Best Student Award 2025. The Best Project Award was jointly conferred on Chiranjeeb Das and Yoshobanta Bisoi from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Dr. Sonalika Mishra, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering, compered the event, and Dr. Simanchal Bag, Assistant Professor, Basic Sciences and Humanities (Economics), coordinated the programme and delivered the vote of thanks. The celebration concluded with a dinner, marking the end of a memorable chapter in the students’ academic journey.
