Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 15 August 2024 to commemorate India’s freedom struggle and foster a sense of unity and patriotism among the students and faculty members.
India celebrates Independence Day on 15 August every year to mark a pivotal moment in the nation’s history. After nearly two centuries under British rule, India achieved its hard-earned freedom on this day, symbolizing the victory of a relentless and resolute struggle for independence.
Dr. Mihir Hota, Dean Academics, hoisted the national flag, which was followed by the singing of the national anthem by the students and faculty members. Various events were organized in the institute to celebrate our nation’s identity, culture, and achievements, and instill a sense of pride among the participants.
The Independence Day celebration not only showcased our patriotic spirit but also reflected our institute’s ethos of inclusivity and social responsibility.
