Silicon West celebrates the 76th Republic Day

ndia celebrated its 76th Republic Day on 26 January 2025. Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized the Republic Day celebration on its campus to commemorate the historic occasion.

Republic Day is celebrated in India to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution which came into effect on 26 January 1950. Educational institutions across the country observe this day to promote awareness of citizens’ rights and duties, fostering national pride and unity.

The Republic Day celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by Prof. (Dr.) Mihir Hota, Dean Academics, followed by an inspiring address. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of upholding the constitutional values of equality, justice, and democracy, urging everyone to contribute towards building a more inclusive and progressive society.

The event resonated with patriotism as the national anthem was sung with pride, filling the air with a sense of unity and nationalism. Students further enriched the celebrations with a series of vibrant cultural performances, showcasing their talent and deep respect for the nation.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of commitment among the attendees to uphold the ideals that define our Republic.
