Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) conducted its 13th orientation-cum-induction program for the newly admitted fresher and lateral students from 10 – 18 December 2021. The program was designed to help students cultivate the right attitude toward their chosen career and inculcate a strong value system.
There were guest lectures on various topics like career building, holistic approach to engineering, recent trends in computer science & engineering and mental well-being. Some of the distinguished speakers included Abhijit Sen, Founder & CEO, Syllogistek Systems Pvt. Ltd., ex-AVP, Infosys as well as Dr. Sourav Kanti Addya, Assistant Professor of CSE, National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.
Our alumni also addressed the students with their inspirational success stories. Nikita Nayak (ECE, 2017), who currently works as a Data Scientist at Nasdaq, Bangaluru, and Ronit Kumar Satapathy (ME, 2016), who is presently working as a Senior Technology Analyst at RWE, Germany, interacted with students.
In addition, as part of the induction program, the students were taken for a Heritage Tour to Hirakud Dam and other places in Sambalpur.
