Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) felicitated Saswat Ranjan Pattnaik from the B.Tech. graduating batch of 2025 during the 30th Governing Body meeting of the institute held on 31 October 2025. He was honoured for securing the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) Gold Medal in Civil Engineering.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Saroj Kanta Misra, Director, Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur. This was followed by the felicitation. Saswat and his father, Mr. Brijesh Kumar Pattnaik, shared heartfelt words which added an emotional touch to the occasion.
The gathering of students and faculty members was then addressed by distinguished members of the Governing Body, including Prof. Omkarnath Mohanty, Former Vice-Chancellor, BPUT, Mr. Nitai Gaur Dhall, Chairperson, Governing Body, Mr. Sanjeev Nayak, Trustee, Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur, Prof. Aditya Prasad Padhy, Former Vice-Chancellor, Berhampur University, and Prof. Pradeep Kumar Mishra, Former Director, Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur. Their inspiring messages emphasized the importance of academic excellence, perseverance, and the responsibility of nurturing future leaders.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sudeep Kumar Patel, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their presence and contribution to the program’s success.
BPUT has announced the university gold medallists for the 2025 graduating batch. All toppers will receive their medals during the 12th Convocation Ceremony of BPUT, scheduled to be held on 13 November 2025.
