Silicon West observes the 5th Anniversary of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

The Social Service Club of Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West), actively participated in an awareness program organised by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to mark the 5th Anniversary of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on 22 November 2025. The program focused on creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging a drug-free lifestyle among students.

The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Ms. Tapaswini Dash, Faculty-in-Charge, Social Service Club, in association with Dr. Simanchal Bag, Faculty-in-Charge, Student Council. Their leadership and support motivated active student participation through informative sessions and engaging activities, reinforcing a collective commitment towards building a healthier and addiction-free society.

As part of the programme, a drawing competition was organized to creatively express the message of a drug-free India. Samvedna (3rd Semester, CSE) secured the first prize, followed by T. John Prince (1st Semester, CSE) winning the second prize, and Jasmine Maharana (1st Semester, CSE) securing the third prize. The event concluded on a meaningful note, highlighting the role of youth in driving social awareness and positive change.
