Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized an awareness program on ‘Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace’ on 17 December 2025. The program was conducted as part of Sexual Harassment Prevention Week, observed from 10 to 17 December 2025, with the objective of sensitising students and staff on women’s safety, legal rights, and institutional mechanisms for grievance redressal.
The session focused on creating awareness about the legal framework related to workplace safety and highlighted institutional support systems such as the She-Box online portal for addressing complaints of sexual harassment. To further engage students and encourage critical reflection, activities including an essay competition were organized, promoting dialogue on respect, equality, and accountability in both professional and social environments. The essay competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with Sradhanjali Tripathy securing the first prize, followed by Smriti Sharma in second place, while T. John Prince and Isha Khan jointly received the third prize.
The program successfully reinforced the importance of fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
