The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Silicon West organized a virtual expert talk on ‘Blockchain’ by Dr. Bhabendu Kumar Mohanta, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, KL University, Andhra Pradesh and listed in the World Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University (2022 Release) on 3 June 2023.
Dr. Mohanta has more than 11 years of experience in teaching and research. His areas of research interest include Information Security, IoT Security, Distributed Computing, Machine Learning and Blockchain Technology. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the Computer Society of India(CSI) and a life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
The objective of this talk was to provide the audience with valuable insights into the potential applications and benefits of blockchain in various industries.
In his talk, Dr. Mahanta shared the fundamental principles and best practices of blockchain technology which helps in the verification and traceability of multistep transactions. Blockchain uses a distributed ledger that is secure, transparent, and immutable to establish the authenticity and accountability of multistep transactions.
A total of 130 students and faculty members joined the session.
