Silicon West organizes an expert talk on ‘Machine Learning for Engineers’

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) organized an expert talk on ‘Machine Learning for Engineers’ on 22 December 2023.

The talk was delivered by Mr. Likhit Nayak, Research Scholar of Bioengineering at Gleason Lab, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA.

The objective of this talk was to familiarize the participants with machine learning by delving into the fundamental concepts, types, and hands-on applications in engineering projects.

In his talk, Mr. Nayak reflected on recent research trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), especially in biomedical engineering. He emphasized how these technological advances are bringing paradigm shifts to healthcare sciences and how technological research is gradually becoming multidisciplinary and multifaceted.

The talk was followed by an interactive session in which Mr. Nayak discussed the research opportunities for engineers in AI and ML.

Mr. Nayak’s insights and knowledge made this session an enriching experience. The talk was attended by one hundred and seventy students and twenty faculty members.
