The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) of Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West), organised an expert talk titled ‘Story by a Successful Innovator and Entrepreneur’ on 5 April 2025. The talk was delivered by our alumnus Mr. Lov Kumar Singh, Founder of DigiAud.
The objective of the event was to inspire students to take entrepreneurship as a career option and to emphasize the challenges inherent in the journey of an entrepreneur.
The event began with the welcome address delivered by Prof. Mihir Hota, Dean Academics. Dr. Simanchal Bag, Faculty-in-Charge, ED Cell discussed the importance of entrepreneurship in the growth of an economy and the role of entrepreneurs in nation-building. The talk was followed by an interactive session moderated by Somdev Behera, a student of Silicon West.
The event also featured an ‘Idea Pitching’ session titled ‘NAVONMESH 2025’ where seven teams presented their business ideas before the jury comprising Mr. Lov Kumar Singh, Mr. Biresh Kumar Dakua, and Dr. Simanchal Bag. The first prize was won by Md. Sk. Aasim and Rishi Raj. The second prize was awarded to Alok Raj, Khusi Kumari, and Swayamsiddha Hota. The team consisting of Mr. Sourav and Mr. Ayush Kumar Tripathy won third prize.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Alisha Patel, a student of Silicon West. The event helped the students understand the hardship and determination needed to become an entrepreneur. Dr. Sonalika Mishra, Faculty-in-Charge, IIC coordinated the program.
