Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur (Silicon West) hosted an interactive alumni session on 14 September 2024, as part of the Induction Program for the newly admitted students of the 2024–28 batch. The session featured two distinguished alumni from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from the 2019 to 2023 batch, viz., Gourish Bhagat, a Software Engineer at Cozentus Technologies, Bhubaneswar, and Aniket Shukla, a Research and Development Engineer at Synopsys, Bhubaneswar.
Our alumni shared valuable insights from their academic journey and early professional experiences. They emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation in technical skills, actively engaging in projects and internships, and staying updated with emerging technologies. Their narratives highlighted how practical exposure during college can significantly shape one’s career trajectory.
Additionally, they offered strategic advice on navigating campus placements, including resume building, interview preparation, and the significance of aligning one’s interests with career choices. Their personal stories provided relatable examples of overcoming challenges and making informed decisions.
The session proved highly motivating for the first-year students, instilling in them a sense of direction and purpose. The speakers’ real-world perspectives helped the freshers better understand industry expectations and inspired them to set clear academic and career goals as they begin their journey at Silicon West.
